Schraedly Marinas Streamlines Multi-Location Rentals with Storable Marine

For 40 years, the Schraedly family has been at the helm of Ohio’s boating scene. Operating four marinas across the state—including Charles Mill Marina and Pleasant Hill Marina—the family-run business offers everything from boat sales and service to rentals and dockage.

As the business expanded, so did the complexity of managing multiple locations, hundreds of rentals, and a team that swells to over 40 employees during the summer season. That’s when co-owner Andrew Schraedly knew it was time to modernize operations and bring everything from online bookings to dockside checkouts, under one system.

“We operate four different marinas in Ohio… three are seasonal operations that run from about April to October, and one is a year-round boat dealership. We have boat rentals at all four of our locations.” Andrew Schraedly, Co-Owner & Business Development Manager @ Schraedly Marinas

The Challenge

Before adopting Storable Rentals, Schraedly Marinas relied on notebooks and phone calls to manage its growing rental business—a process that quickly became unsustainable when demand soared during the pandemic.

Before basically 2020, everything for rental organization happened out of a notebook, and it just became untenable. The pandemic just made it insanely busy.

With phones ringing nonstop, team members were buried in manual tasks, leaving little time to focus on customers walking through the door. Schraedly needed a way to:

  • Simplify the booking process across multiple marinas
  • Reduce time spent managing rentals over the phone
  • Eliminate paper-based checkouts and documentation
  • Gain better insight into performance and profitability

It was basically a full-time job for someone to take rental bookings. By pushing it to our website, about 50–60% of bookings now happen online. That’s less time on the phone—and more time serving customers.”
